Time to Talk of God

"Is it your desire and design to be on this and all other occasions entirely open, so as to speak everything that is in your heart, without exception, without disguise, and without reserve?" John Wesley

This kind of searching question, one which Wesley posed to members of the early Methodist Band meetings, 'is no longer the sort of thing Methodists expect to be asked in a Church context'. This was the contention of a report to the Methodist Conference in 2005 from a group of people concerned that we've lost the confidence we need to talk about our faith.

The report struck such a chord that it was reproduced in a form which would encourage debate, and most importantly, conversation about God and faith. It contains guidance notes for group leaders; clear sections which may be tackled separately and in any order; questions to get started in conversation and exercises for going deeper; prayer suggestions and links to other resources.
